This set in place custom pit was designed and built for the Marley Mill Volunteer Fire Department located in Ozark, Alabama. There
was an existing built-in block pit, with a hood and stacks, that was in dire need of replacement. We were contacted to design a similar
shaped pit that would meet or exceed the capacity of the existing pit. The desire was to cook at least 100 Boston Butts at one time.
The final design is actually two individual cookers. There is a baffle located in the center of the cooker that splits the cooker
into the two cookers. Each end of the cooker is made up of four cook racks with their own pull fire tray and thermometer, served
by a single 12" stack. Due to the size of the cooker it was fabricated on the trailer you see in the pictures and transported to
the facility.
